(To Jing) A lot of celebrities and known personalities go to your salon. What’s your secret? What does your salon have that others don’t?
Jing: It’s the whole experience in Jing Monis Salon. We have top stylists in Manila. We [also] have international artists and celebrity stylists coming [to] Manila.
(To Max) How did you know Jing? Why did you come here as his guest stylist?
Max: I grew up in the States, and in 1997, when I went here in the Philippines, Jing was the first person that I met. I was here about a month ago and he told me that he was opening a salon at the hotel and I said, “Oh my God, that’s me! I wanna help you, I’m coming back here. I wanna help you!” Because working in a hotel and working in a salon is two different worlds.
What hair care products do you recommend for Filipinas?
Jing: Everybody should have the Tresemme shampoo and conditioner. It’s really, really good.
Max: For Filipinas, it’s more of conditioning and Keratin Treatment.
How do you find Asian women’s hair?
Max: I have a couple of surprises. I realized how delicate their hair is. It’s all about the treatment, the softness. We all have different kinds of hair.
What hair trends do you see in the future?
Max: Beautiful long hair is always the star. [A] very classic hair style.
Jing: This 2013, it’s all back to glamour, hairstyles from [the] chignon to [the] high bun.
