The New Way To Wear Red Lipstick

Time to ditch that lip brush.

Accuracy in lipstick application is dead—well, until the next season rolls along.

Blurred red lips were a thing at the Autumn/Winter 2014-2015 catwalk, as seen during the A.F. Vandervorst show. Models stepped out on the runway with smudged lips, as if they just made out with their boyfriends minutes before walking.

It's effortless, doable, and super convenient, because the Pinay is so used to doing her makeup in the car, bus, or MRT. Who has time to line lips?

MAC's senior makeup artist Caitlin Callahan suggests using your ring finger to dab pigment on your lips for a stained finish—or use a cotton swab to blur the edges for a perfectly imperfect look.

The kind of red you use on your lips matters, too. Darker shades like crimson are totally stealing the spotlight from the usual cherry red ones.

As for the other areas of your face? Keep it simple. Brushed brows, zero eyeshadow, and highlighted cheekbones should seal your look.

Finally, something we can do. Gloss on the lids? Totally not happening.
