Here's something we picked up from MAC's senior artist Caitlin Callahan: You can put lip gloss on your face.
It's a beauty trend that made its way on the runways of Paris, Milan, and London during the Autumn/Winter 2014 shows—makeup artists swiping clear lip gloss on the models' lids and cheekbones right before they stepped out on the catwalk. The effect? Dewy lids and illuminated, lit-from-within cheeks that caught the lights. The look just screamed F-R-E-S-H!
Truthfully, putting gloss on the lids isn't super wearable for everyday, admits MAC senior artist Caitlin Callahan. "You have to look at your face in the mirror, and analyze your features. Do you have lines and wrinkles? Creases? Don't put gloss there."
Instead, apply a super thin coat of clear gloss on flat areas of your face. "Try applying gloss under your brows or on your cheekbones. Look at facial features that that aren't going to move as much," Caitlin suggests.
We're all for a dewy, fresh finish, but gloss on the face...in this weather?
Maybe we'll reserve it for special occasions.
