A lot of us ring in each new year by making resolutions. Or--if we put it in a more realistic light--we make mental notes of what we want to do or change...and then forget about them almost as soon as the last fireworks disappear from the sky. So instead of listing personal promises we can't seem to keep, why not make your resolutions more tangible using something that can remind you of them daily?

Here's a list of 2011 planners that will help you keep whichever resolution you decide to make this new year. (Tip: It might be more practical and realistic to make one resolution you can actually keep, than list a lot and lose track of them.) Pick a planner that suits your lifestyle, your personality, and your goals. Having something nice to write on will definitely inspire you to put those goals down on paper and, eventually, put them to action. If you're the type to keep promises to your loved ones, it's time you extend the same value to yourself.

1. Kick ass at work.

Get your work plans, schedules, and deadlines in order with a no-nonsense organizer that has all the space you need to write all these, and somehow makes you feel calm, relaxed, and at ease. Try to get the Starbucks 2011 Planner, which not only provides you with ample writing space for organizing your career in 2011, but also gives you the perfect excuse to indulge in all the coffee breaks you want during the holiday season! Each month of the 14-month planner (from December 2010-January 2012) features a Starbucks store, so you can take the Starbucks experience with you anywhere you go. Every planner redemption also comes with a donation to SparkHope, Starbucks' flagship program for early childhood care and development in partnership with UNICEF.

How to get one: On your next coffee break at Starbucks, ask the barista for a stamp card, which you need to fill in with 17 stickers. You can get a sticker by purchasing any of your favorite coffee varieties (including the Starbucks VIA Ready Brew), as well as their limited Christmas flavors--Peppermint Mocha, Praline Mocha, and Toffee Nut Latte. Purchase of the Starbucks VIA Ready Brew 3-pack booklet can also earn customers one (1) sticker, while the Starbucks VIA Ready Brew box of 12 will earn customers three (3) stickers. You just need to collect eight stickers from their core beverages, plus nine stickers from the Christmas flavors to claim your planner. You can pick any of the three available designs--Maroon Velvet Fabric, Cool Clean Stainless Steel, and Stained Dark Wood Panels--which represent the three elements in every Starbucks store.

2. Give back to the community.

If you're one of those who can say that 2010 was a year full of blessings, then 2011 could be the perfect time for you to spread the positive karma by giving back and helping those in need. If you don't know where to start, try to score a Coffee Bean And Tea Leaf 2011 Giving Journal, which can inspire you everyday to help out in many different ways through CBTL's different socio-civic advocacies. A percentage of the profits generated from this planner campaign will go to the Real Life Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping our underprivileged kababayans get access to good education and livelihood.

How to get one: A minimum single-receipt purchase of any regular or large-sized Original Ice Blended, Frozen Swirl, or Coffee-based or Tea-based beverage qualifies you to get a stamp card. Each card consists of 24 boxes with corresponding drink assignments, which are the following:

- 1 Original Ice Blended (any flavor, regular or large)
- 1 Tea Latte (any flavor, regular or large)
- 1 Apple Caramel Ice Blended or Apple Pie Tea Latte (regular or large)
- Any 21 Regular or Large-sized Original Ice Blended, Frozen Swirl, or Coffee-based or Tea-based beverage or Frozen Swirl

Present your stamp card every time you purchase any of these products to get them stamped. As soon as you get all 24 boxes stamped, you may claim your Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf 2011 Giving Journal at any CBTL store.

3. Be a beauty dummy...no more!

Hoping to be more glam or kikay in 2011? Start getting on the road to beauty with the exclusive Beauty Bar 2011 Diary. With this, you can jot down plans for different makeup looks you want to try on different occasions, or plot your daily skin care routine together with the products you want to use to achieve your beauty goals.

How to get one: Make a P500 purchase at any Beauty Bar branch to get a stamp card to fill in. Every succeeding P500 purchase entitles you to a stamp, until you accumulate stamps worth P10,000, which entitles you to get the planner. (Visit their newly launched online store, too, and do your beauty loot shopping online!)

4. Get fresh creative juices flowing.

If 2010 was such a busy year for you that you lost touch with your inner writer or artist, then this is the year to get your I-want-to-start-writing/sketching-again plans going. You might want to draw inspiration from some of the greatest artists and thinkers in history--the likes of Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, and Bruce Chatwin--by using the same legendary notebook they wrote/sketched on to create their masterpieces. Check out the Moleskine Daily Diary, P1,472.

You can also check out Moleskine's other varieties of notebooks, journals, planners, and guidebooks. They're made of acid-free paper, so your bright ideas can last forever. Who knows, those pages could bring your own masterpiece to life!

How to get one: The Moleskine Daily Diary and other Moleskin products are available in most  bookstores in the metro, including National Bookstore and Powerbooks.

5. Cut yourself some slack.

Were you uptight throughout 2010? For a change, let loose a little in 2011--still without getting yourself into any trouble, of course. No matter how stifling your job (and office dress code) can get, you can channel the laidback feeling of being in your comfiest jeans with a cool, handy, and edgy journal like the Giordano 2011 Planner.

How to get one: Starting December 15, 2010, every single receipt minimum purchase of P2,500 entitles you to purchase the limited edition Giordano planner for only P99. This offer is available in all Giordano outlets nationwide.

6. Make work-life balance your mantra.

Planners are really made for, well, planning. If you foresee 2011 as a year swamped with deadly deadlines and bigger responsibilities at work, get some feel-good vibes by writing them down on a pretty, uber-girly planner. It also wouldn't hurt if you could organize your year around fab freebies, discounts, fashion tips, and diet cheat days, right? Try the 2011 Belle de Jour Power Planner, P598. Aside from the coupons that come with the planner, each BDJ Power Planner comes with a BDJ Lifestyle Card, which you could use for MORE freebies and discounts from BDJ's partner establishments.

How to get one: You can order online through www.belledejourpowerplanner.com, or visit any branch of Fully Booked and Powerbooks, select branches of National Bookstore, and all Schu shops nationwide.
