Cosmo Challenge For College Chicks: Turn Your Money-Making Ideas Into Reality
Posted on August 13, 2010 11:00 am by Katrine Alcantara, Cosmo.ph Intern

Do you have a promising business idea but you're worried no one will listen to you or maybe you don't have the starting capital for it? Do you think you have a cool idea for earning more money? Don't let that idea go to waste. Cosmo's sister publication, Entrepreneur Philippines, came up with a contest specifically for college students, meant to encourage them to pitch their business ideas. Join the first ever Entrepreneur Student Challenge and get a chance to be featured in Entrepreneur magazine and win a cash prize of P100,000 and other special prizes, to help you get that business started.
To join this contest, you and your friends must at least be enrolled in a college or university in Metro Manila. You can send in your business proposal, either as an individual or as a team, to entrepstudentchallenge@summitmedia.com.ph on or before September 30, 2010. The winners will be announced by the end of October, and they'll be awarded in November. Who knows, it just might be you! Make your fellow college Cosmo chicks proud!
The business plan must have a total initial capital of less than one million pesos. Check out the required format for the business plan in the Entrepreneur Student Challenge mechanics page in the August issue of Entrepreneur. Those plans will be judged according to the following criteria: completeness of the business plan, soundness and viability of the business plan, efficient use of available resources, and innovation.
The cash prize of P100,000 may only be used as a start up for the proposed business. So while it may not instantly be your shopping money, it can be used to help you earn money for shopping. Now that's thinking long-term!
