Summer is upon us and that entails doing three things: tossing your work wear aside, throwing on a bikini, and hitting the beach for some sun, sand, and relaxation. If you're looking for a vacation spot that doesn't make you feel like you've stepped into the noise and crowd congestion of a seaside Manila, or if you're just tired of going to Boracay every year, the Philippines is blessed with hundreds of beautiful beaches. Now's your chance to try one you haven't been to yet.

Davao has always been a go-to city, with its nearby Samal Island in Davao del Norte being a popular but not overcrowded destination. The island is tranquil and lush with life. The surrounding oceans are blessed with an abundance of colorful marine life.

Samal's white sand beaches are perfect for getting that tan (without being harassed by vendors or strangers, mind you). Its atmosphere is one of peace, rest, and quiet contemplation. If you've ever wanted to feel close to nature, Samal Island, with its greenery and the sound of the sea, is what you're looking for.

And if you start to miss the noise of the city when you're on your island escape, Davao City itself is a short boat ride away. They have all sorts of activities you can try, like white water rafting, zip lines, and less adventurous stuff like tourist spots and zoos.

23. Wow..Nice Pics Cosmo.Tnx..I was assign before in Davao right after my project research in Cebu.. I would say i enjoy Davao more...when i cameback to Manila..I do have a blog written what Davao is all about...:) miss my friends there... hmm.. I will surely visit Davao again...:)

3. I so miss Davao, the marang, suha and durian,, we went also to Samal Island at Paradise Beach.. Eden Garden and Crocodile Farm is also nice.. For great buys we pass bye Aldevinco for malongs and souveniers.. Wish to have another trip again!
