The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) criticized GMA7's newest primetime teleserye My Husband's Lover starring Carla Abellana, Dennis Trillo, and Tom Rodriguez for its controversial theme. The show is the very first television program in the Philippines with a storyline that centers on a homosexual relationship, specifically between Dennis and Tom's characters. Carla plays Tom's wife in the series, as well as the mother of their two kids.

In an article posted in Rappler.com yesterday, CBCP-ECY executive secretary Fr. Kunegundo Gargantaang raised CBCP's concern over GMA-7's new teleserye. Fr.
