Cosmo Top 10: The Biggest Female Newsmakers Of 2010

"It's really sad, 'no, that her whole life has become a drama.”

While this statement referred to a specific female spotlight magnet, it actually applies to all the women who’ve made it to this Cosmo list.  They’ve elicited more “OMGs” from us than any other celeb, stopped us mid-motion in front of the telly with their on-cam antics, and made us feel envious/pissed off/in awe (sometimes all at the same time!) every time their names and faces crop up.

In Hollywood, the last 12 months offered very little fresh meat for gossip vultures to pick on. Paris Hilton was allegedly caught with coke--eh, so…? Lindsay Lohan went back to the slammer for the nth time after losing her most important (and most degrading) role recently as porn queen Linda Lovelace. Sandra Bullock’s hubby was caught cheating on Miss Congeniality only days after she thanked him profusely for being in her life in front of millions of televiewers.

It’s been awhile since a Disney princess took the piss off Mickey Mouse, but the day we’ve sort of been expecting but really dreading has finally arrived: Demi Lovato had enrolled into heartbreak rehab and Miley Cyrus was caught on video trippin’ with a bong! Oh, and that other day we’ve dreaded has come as well: Kate Middleton has officially taken Prince William off the market and now wears Princess Di’s ring--we just hope that rock isn’t cursed!

On the home front, we relished our daily servings of overnight chick celebrities, good intentions that met vicious backlash, and stellar catfights that never were. But in the end, these fearless Cosmo chicks slipped on their stilettos, flipped back their shiny locks, and took on the world again. Who are these women? Why the heck do they have such long hair?
