Kris Aquino Believes Love Will Come To Her Soon

The Queen of All Media tells Cosmo the real score on her love life (or lack thereof). She describes men being linked to her as her "best friends."

It seems that Kris Aquino and former husband James Yap have both moved on after they decided to split up last year. Unlike other couples who have separated, Kris and James look like they have maintained their closeness as friends--in fact, they're both open to going on a double date!

"Friends na kami! Handa na nga siyang makipag-double date sa akin, e. Sabi ko, ‘Ikaw meron ka nang ka-date, ako wala pa. Hanapan mo ako,'" the TV host told the media during the formal launch of Bench's newest scent called Freedom held recently, which was also graced by her co-endorser Dingdong Dantes.

Although Kris is often rumored to be dating a new guy, she wanted to stress that, "Walang umaaligid sa akin." And to clear each men who were linked to her, she described each of them as her best friends. "Ang dami kong best friends!" she said with a laugh.

First to crop up as allegedly dating her, at the height of her marital problems last year, is Makati Mayor Mayor Jun Jun Binay. “He’s my best friend,” Kris said with a smile. “O, 'di ba, ang ganda no’n. ‘Tapos sasabihin niya sa akin, ‘Kailan tayo naging mag-best friend?’ ‘Wala gusto lang kitang i-best friend.’”

Kris also gave the same comment about fellow actor Diether Ocampo, who was linked to her while they were filming their movie Dalaw late last year. She said, "He’s ano talaga, alam mo kasi, siya ‘yong tao na kapag wala kang makasama, tawagan mo lang, nando’n. Wala talaga, kasi si Diet, ang gusto niya super bata. At talagang sinabi ko na super bata. So, ‘yon definitely ayaw niya ng ka-age niya. Okay na ‘yon.”

How about Ted Failon? Kris once said on national TV that the male broadcaster is her textmate. Kris did not give a straight answer when asked about Ted. However, she pointed out that their upcoming show is one of the reasons they're close to each other.

She elaborated, "Alam mo, ang hirap sagutin ng kay Ted kasi sinasabi ko sa kanya na dapat [parang] John Lloyd-Bea working tandem kami. Kasi, magsho-shoot na kami ng pilot ng talk show namin this March, for preview ng management. ‘Tapos linggu-linggo na kaming magkakasama so, mahirap. Kagaya nila Dingdong at Marian [Rivera] na nagkakaroon ng happily ever after, na nagsimula as a love team, 'di ba? So, ito, tingnan natin.”

Then, the TV personality assured us that, if she ever finds a new love life, she will not hide it from the media and the public. "Kasi, kung talagang may darating, sasabihin ko naman," she said.

She reiterated, "Wala pa [akong love life], hinihintay pa. But [it's] coming very soon."
