Behind-The-Scenes: Erich Gonzales Cover Shoot

With a faint blush like the kiss of summer on her cheeks and the light of the sunset in her eyes, Erich Gonzales is glowing and gorgeous on the cover of Cosmo. The young star topbilled her first hit teleserye, Katorse, and has finally made her name in showbiz after almost five years of waiting. (She was discovered on the second season of Star Circle Quest in 2005.)

While it looks like she's well on her way to becoming a household name (if she isn't already), the 19-year-old actress still has her feet planted firmly on the ground. She's a girl of simple tastes, and people who expect artistas to be all about frivolous expenses will be surprised to know that Erich keeps it very real.

What she does after work? "Sleep, of course! Get some rest!" Partying isn't her thing, but she does like to go out with her friends Kim Chiu, Melissa Ricks, and Empress Schuck. Her personal style? "Just jeans and a nice shirt," she says. Her beauty regimen? "I don't really like super heavy makeup. Just be confident," Erich replies. Her thoughts on designer goods? "It doesn't matter if you're wearing branded [things]; it's how you carry yourself. Being confident, being comfortable."

She might be young, but Erich Gonzales works hard. She has a good head on her shoulders, and she's comfortable in her own skin. Her career, so far, has been a means of discovering new things everyday, she says. Show business might be a difficult industry, but she's mature enough to understand that sometimes, you just have to deal with it.

The payoff? "Nagiging role model ka. That's one thing na sobrang nice!" she says, smiling.
