Last week, there was an uproar when the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) gave Bliss—a psychological thriller directed by Jerrold Tarog and produced by TBA Productions (Heneral Luna, Sunday Beauty Queen, and I'm Drunk, I Love You)—an X rating.
That meant that the movie, which stars Iza Calzado, was "deemed unfit for exhibition in local theaters and TV supposedly for scenes featuring prolonged frontal nudity, excessive violence, and masturbation."
Now, after a second review, ABS-CBN News reports that the MTRCB has granted Bliss an R-18 rating.

Tarog also tweeted the happy news.

A report by Cinema Bravo revealed that the first reviewers of Bliss were MTRCB board members Robert Arevalo and Pammy Macasaet who both gave it an X rating, and Roland Tolentino who gave it an R-18.
The report indicated that the new MTRCB panel who reviewed the film earlier this week was composed of Joey Romero, Bibeth Orteza, Gladys Reyes, Consoliza Laguardia, and Atty. Ogie Jaro.
