With their ghostly-white skin and gleaming fangs, it’s easy to view vampires as nothing but pure evil. But did you ever imagine them as tortured souls, too, always out only at night and feared by all--never having anyone? Right, you did. Edward Cullen's burning sad eyes come to mind.

So on the second week of Halloween month, as we dwell on vampires’ solitary nature, we captured October 2009 Online Hunk John Cruz in his melancholy moments. Read the interview below to learn some of John’s private thoughts and somber secrets.

What do you do to get away from the world? Where do you go?

Usually my room. Everything’s in there.

What do you do?

I listen to music, I study, I read, [browse the] Internet.

Do you have any deep, dark secrets that you’ve never shared with anyone?

Uh, yeah (laughs).

What is it?

That’s why I don’t share it with anyone (laughs).

What do you usually do in your spare time, when you’re not studying?

[I go to the] gym, or I like to be alone sometimes. I walk around the mall alone. I like walking, just experiencing nature.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

Both. I’m extreme sometimes. But I usually balance both. When I go out at night, or just for coffee, I like to be with my friends or in a group.

How would you handle an ex who doesn't seem to know when to let go?

Open communication. There has to be a reason why they’re still sticking to something with me. So I like to be just open, ask them what it is, and try to work our way. Because we’ve been through something. [That way,] we can get out of it together.

And it works?

Yes. It takes a long time, but it works (laughs).

What do you think of girls who keep chasing you even though you’re no longer interested?

They have something inside them that they need [to let out]. They have a hidden problem.

Can you remember a time you came to a girl’s rescue?

Yes. She is actually my best friend. She saw her ex at this party. I wasn’t going to do anything that evening, so she texted me. She said, “Help! Will you come here, pretend you’re my boyfriend?” So I traveled all the way there to help her out. Everything went well. She was happy.

You’re not into her?

Oh no, she’s just a friend (laughs).

Would you ever stalk someone?

No. You mean a person I dated?

Yeah. Or someone you’re obsessed with.

No, I don’t really do that (laughs).
