Tyra Banks’ reality competition program America’s Next Top Model is heading back to the small screen, just two months after TV bosses canceled the show.

Executives at America's CW network announced in October that the show's 22nd season would be its last, and the expected series finale aired in December.

However, fans of the long-running program received good news on Tuesday, when bosses at VH1 revealed they are picking up the series for a 23rd cycle.

The new series will return to New York City as a home base, but it will be the first season not hosted by creator Tyra.

The supermodel, who welcomed her first child via a surrogate last month, will stay on as an executive producer, along with original producer Ken Mok.

Banks shared her excitement for ANTM's new life in a statement, which reads: "After creating an incredible, global brand, I am beyond excited to have the show reborn. I will continue as Executive Producer, but must turn my attention to new business endeavors, so I want to find a new host.

"I’m pumped to identify that person and bring back the show. Top Model fans, you demanded that the show come back, and VH1 answered the call. Get ready for a fierce-a-fied rebirth!"

A new host, new panel of judges and a premiere date will be announced at a later date.
