You said your best asset is your "built-in" abs. Do you exert a lot of effort in keeping it flat?
Athlete kasi ako since high school--volleyball and track, tapos naging habit ko na whenever I'm watching TV [to] suspend my tummy so hindi ako free na nakahiga. Nasanay ako na ganoon habang nanonood ako. I [also] do crunches. I put seven round plates on it. Two first, then after two minutes I add another plate hanggang maging seven na sila. And then [I] remove the plates two by two, the same way.
Did you have any body issues? How did you get over them?
Back in sixth grade, may asthma kasi ako. Hindi ako aware noon na may steroids 'yung inhaler. Bumilog ako na hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit, tapos nag-wear off 'yung effect noong college na ako. Ang tagal! Tapos nung college, I started taking workouts seriously.
What's your fitness regimen now?
At least once a week I have to do something [physical], like play volleyball or walking sa gabi bago matulog. Kailangan gumagalaw ako.
Do you still go to the gym?
Very seldom, kasi ayoko 'yung naka-confine lang sa isang lugar. Gusto ko talaga gumagalaw, gusto ko laro.
Do you believe in diets?
Lifestyle, I think, ang kailangan mong i-change--iyong eating habits mo, not your diet. Mahirap i-follow 'yon. Dumaan ako sa ganoong phase, na one day I just had to ask myself, "Ano ba, forever ba akong magda-diet?" Hindi maganda kasi medyo mag-binge ka, babalik agad. So, it really has to be your lifestyle.
How do you pamper yourself?
I seldom do that. I enjoy massages, pero tamad akong magpa-facial. I like working up a sweat more kasi mas nawawala 'yung toxins kapag ganoon.
What's the best compliment you ever got?
I'm 40 years old, pero pambata pa raw ang katawan ko.
