A tearful Miley Cyrus has accepted Donald Trump will be her nation's next leader.

The pop star was spotted voting at a drive-by polling station in California on November 8, and has since made it clear Republican Trump was not her first choice.

In an emotional video posted on Twitter, Miley broke down in tears as she shared her thoughts about Democrat Hillary Clinton's defeat, stating, "I still think in her lifetime, that she deserved to be the first female president, and that's what makes me sad, is that I just wish that she had that opportunity, because she's fought for so long and because I believe her when she says she loves this country.

"It's all she's ever done. She's given her life to make it better."

She then urged her fans and followers to join her in accepting Trump's win.

And any way, anything you ever want to talk about or understand, maybe people that don't think the same way that you and some of the people that supported you do, please, if you want to open your mind and if you want to open your heart, please, I would love to give you a key.”
