Malacañang has declared June 26 a regular holiday.

"President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation No. 235, marking the observance of Eid'l Fitr—the end of the fasting month of Ramadan—as a regular holiday," reports Dharel Placido on ABS-CBN News Online.

The report notes: "Ritual fasting during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. Muslims are required to abstain from eating and drinking between dawn and sunset, as they use Ramadan for a time of reflection, forgiveness, and charity."
