Lammily, the "normal Barbie" who started as a Kickstarter dream and is now being produced in time for the holiday shopping season, is stirring up a powerful reaction on the Internet. While lots of people think it's a great thing to present kids with a more realistic view of women's bodies, some think the cellulite, stretch marks, and acne Lammily has take away from the fantasy of playing with dolls.
Lammily creator Nickolay Lamm decided to go straight to the source and ask a bunch of second graders what they thought of the doll. "She's so pretty!" the first girl says. "She looks like my sister," several heartwarmingly explain. Asked which career she'd have, Lammily gets "pilot" and "teacher" while Barbie gets "model" and "makeup artist." In the end, the kids pick the obvious choice. Way to go, little dudes.
