Selena Gomez shocked fans in late August when she suddenly announced her indefinite leave from her Revival world tour. Her hiatus is due to her battle against lupus which has brought about side effects such as depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. In a statement to People, she said:
“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I've discovered that anxiety, panic attacks, and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges. I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off.”
A new report from RadarOnline suggests that Selena has now been checked into a rehabilitation facility to deal with her mental health. An insider claims that she’ll be staying in the facility for more than 60 days.
The rehab is said to be a “women’s only facility in a secluded wooded area” with "a Christianity-based track, which might have been appealing given her religious background.”
The source stressed, however, that Selena’s reason for going into rehab was nothing drug-related.
