The fifth edition of Starstruck, the reality artista search of GMA-7, goes international, which is obvious when you go through the surnames of those who made it to the Top 28 contenders' list.

In last Sunday’s show, the contestants were first trimmed from 30 to 20, but to the surprise of those chosen, eight more were added to the fold, including aspirants from several countries where the show conducted auditions--in line with Starstruck V's intention to go international this year.

The fourteen young men who made the cut are Steven Silva, Rolo Espeno, Shane Parminter, Edward Benosa, Sef Cadayona, Piero Vergara, Adam Hussein, Enric Nacino, Ian Batherson, Enzo Pineda, Niko Umali of Japan, Khalid Alalawi of Bahrain, and Rye Burgos and MJ Bautista of the United States.

Meanwhile, the fourteen young women in the list are Diva Montelaba, Fianca Cruz, Janel Olafson, Mich Liggayu, Sarah Lahbati, Princess Snell, Jeramie Padolina, Astrid Isidro, Gold Gamir, Rox Montealegre, Nina Kodaka of Japan, Zyril Lim of Canada, Naomi King of Singapore, and Vanessa Harrison.

This Sunday, you'll witness the final--and most cruel--cut of all, as these contenders will be reduced to just the Top 14. The contest proper begins after this.
