Manila's Most Popular Stars Honor Hollywood In A Photo Exhibit

We're just about done gushing about the recently concluded Oscars: like how gorgeous host Anne Hathaway had a total of eight outfit changes and how Natalie Portman truly deserved to bag the Best Actress award for Black Swan. Oscar season may be over, but not for local showbiz! After the 83rd Academy Award winners were announced, Velvet Channel hosted its very own glitzy and glamorous awards night for 15 photo entries, recreating the best of Hollywood.

A repeat of last year’s photo exhibit, where Jericho Rosales and Maricar Reyes’s Casablanca portrayal won the Gold Award, Velvet Channel hosted its third The Best of Hollywood: A Tribute Exhibit. Local celebrities and personalities teamed up with Manila’s top photographers, stylists, makeup artists, and hairstylists to create their fashion editorial-esque representations of their assigned Hollywood films.

To officially launch the photo exhibit, celebrities like Heart Evangelista, Megan Young, Jewel Mische, Brapanese models and Cosmo hunks Daniel Matsunaga,Fabio Ide, and Hideo Muraoka, and other famous personalities and guests flocked to Power Plant Mall’s Archaeology wing. Host Sarah Meier-Albano welcomed everybody and announced the winners of the night (yes, they awarded the top three best photos, and gave out other individual awards).

The Gold award went to “Sherlock Holmes” featuring John Lloyd Cruz as Robert Downey Jr., as photographed by Xander Angeles.

The Silver award went to “Coco Before Chanel” featuring Jewel Mische as Audrey Tautou, as photographed by Ria Regino.
 
The Bronza award went to “Black Swan” featuring Kim Chiu as Natalie Portman, as photographed by Miguel Miranda.
