We talk a lot about beauty here in Cosmo.ph, and we're proud to have a beauty expert like Bianca Valerio as one of our regular columnists. Besides being a member and officer of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines, she's also an event and TV host, image consultant, and makeup artist. Now, with the release of her first book, she can add author to her growing list of professional titles.
Bianca recently launched Face To Face: The Healing Power Of Make-Up at the Greenbelt 5 Fashion Walk. The book is the first of its kind because it's not only a step-by-step guide to basic and advanced cosmetic techniques, it's also a self-help manual that will teach you how to cope with your own insecurities. At the event, which was hosted by Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Bianca revealed that she had been depressed and bullied in her youth, and one of the things that really helped improve her self-esteem was the transformative power of makeup.
With this book, she hopes to encourage others to rediscover their own beauty and inspire them through the amazing makeovers she performed on both everyday girls and celebrities like Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Iza Calzado, and Georgina Wilson. The 22 subjects in the book share their biggest physical insecurities and how they've overcome them. Their personal stories will inspire and motivate you to address your own body issues so they will no longer hinder you from being the best you can be--just like a true Cosmo girl.
Several of Bianca's famous friends came to support her new project, including Divine Lee, Victor Basa, Carlos Concepcion, Mike Concepcion, Joey Mead, and Valerie Bariou-Bondoc.

Face To Face: The Healing Power Of Make-Up is exclusively available for P795 at National Book Store and Powerbooks. Royalties from the sales of this book will be donated to the Philippine National Red Cross.
