Marathons are more popular than ever, and one of the great things about this trend is that, besides promoting a healthier lifestyle, prominent personalities are also using them as a way to support worthy causes. One of the most high-profile marathons recently took place in Camarines Sur, the country's number one sports tourism destination, and featured many fit celebs who raced to preserve Mother Earth.

"Racing To A Greener Philippines" was the theme of the second annual Summit Water Camsur Marathon. The marathon showed its support for Camsur Gov. LRay Villafuerte's environmental project "El Verde Movement: 12 Million Trees By 2012" by sponsoring 210,000 trees in honor of the 21,000 runners who registered. In addition to this, the marathon also helped build more homes for their beneficiary, Gawad Kalinga.

The event drew celebs and models like coach Rio dela Cruz, Will Devaughn, Frank Magalona, Rovilson Fernandez, Rich Hardin, Laureen Uy, Wendy Valdez, Brent Javier, Karen Pamintuan, and Tessa Prieto Valdes among many others.
