Stars Gather To Celebrate The Best In Pinoy Music

Celebrities flocked to the Music Museum to award the brightest stars in the Philippine music scene.

Stars Gather To Celebrate The Best In Pinoy Music

The Music Museum in Greenhills was packed with stars, and the seats were filled with A-list guests. Big names in showbiz and the music industry, including Cosmo cover girls Heart Evangelista and Sarah Geronimo, were present to celebrate the 5th Annual MYX Music Awards--a yearly awards show that gives recognition to our local music greats.

The event featured great production numbers from talents like Sam Concepcion, Karylle, Gian Magdangal, Nina, La Diva, Rayver Cruz, and MYX VJ Iya Villania, who opened the show by performing the five songs that were nominated for Favorite Song. Jay-R, Richard Poon, Yeng Constantino, Jayson Fernandez of Rivermaya, Rachel Ann Go, Kean Cipriano of Callalily, and Christian Bautista performed a medley of Jose Mari Chan songs as a tribute to the great songwriter who was this year's Magna Awardee.

The crowd was treated to electrifying performances by Urbandub (featuring Franco, Aia de Leon of Imago, Paolo Valenciano of Salamin, and Kat Agarrado of Sino Sikat on vocals) and Hilera, with Rico Blanco joining them to sing his hit track "Ayuz."

Favorite Remake: "You Changed My Life" by Sarah Geronimo
Favorite Collaboration: "Higante" by Ely Buendia and Francis Magalona
Favorite Guest Appearance in a Music Video: Heart Evangelista in Hale's "Bahay Kubo"
Favorite Celebrity MYX VJ: Billy Crawford
Favorite Group: Sponge Cola
Favorite Male Artist: Rico Blanco
Favorite Female Artist: Sarah Geronimo
Favorite Artist: Sarah Geronimo
Favorite Song: "Back In Time" by Jay-R and Kyla

5. I haven't watched the video for Kyla's version of "Old Friend", but I love the song itself.Nothing beats the orginal though.
