  PERLAS NG SILANGAN A Festival Celebrating New Philippines in 2010 5-6 March 2010 (Fri-Sat), 9:00am-6:00pm Bantayog ng mga Bayani, Quezon Ave. Quezon City The Perlas ng Silangan Festival is a two-day event sponsored by PANGMASA (Partido ng Marangal na Sambayanan) with exhibits, bazaars, musical performances, art shows, and forums highlighting initiatives and movements in the areas of poverty eradication, good governance, ecological protection, holistic education and societal transformation. The event will culminate with a concert jam, entitled PERLAS JAM 2010, featuring Joey Ayala and other artists -- everyone, in fact, is invited to perform and share his or her talent. The festival aims to celebrate the coming of a new era, of a future Philippines we have all been waiting for. It is here now, and this festival is one avenue to show the initiatives bearing the “stamp” of the New Philippines, and also as a way to encourage more of these kinds of initiatives. “The light of the new Philippines is upon us. We only need to awaken to see the brilliance of its promise. But we need to act together. Only by acting together can we renew our country. Only by acting together can we create a New Philippines, one that we have all been yearning for, one that will make a positive contribution to the highest aspirations of humanity.” – Nicanor Perlas *** Event Information Dear Friends, The Partido ng Marangal na Sambayan (PangMasa) will be holding the Perlas ng Silangan Festival on March 5 and 6, 2010 at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani Memorial Center, Quezon City. This is the opening salvo for a series of events that will culminate on Earth Month 2010. The Perlas ng Silangan Festival's primary objective is to consolidate and solidify: 1. Like-minded Filipinos who are yearning for genuine change, and moving towards the vision of a New Philippines; 2. Artists, musicians, performers who would like to sing, dance, and perform for New Politics and the New Philippines; 3. Products and services that are aligned with the vision of a New Philippines, highlighting ecologically-sound businesses as well as indigenous and cultural arts and crafts among others; 4. Initiatives that are currently doing the work within PANGMASA’s 6 Pillars of GINHAWA (Integral Sustainable Development) – Eradicate Poverty and Enhance Quality of Life Advance Moral and Effective Governance Uphold the Integrity of Creation Build Partnerships for Social Justice (Societal Threefolding) Promote Holistic Education and Inner Change Mainstream Visionary Initiatives; 5. This venue would also present the life and works of Nicanor Perlas, presidential candidate and bearer of New Politics, and especially how he can fuse all the initiatives to bring it all together in the context of a New Philippines. The VISION of PERLAS NG SILANGAN is to quite simply enough, raise our Filipino identity and well-being. By celebrating our inherent talents, art, culture and land with its abundance we make more Filipinos aware that there is great pride in being Filipino! And more importantly, we do have the will and the capability to make our nation new and whole again. If results, short of miraculous, can be done through individual efforts, just imagine the velocity and the strength it will gain with a more concerted and united resolution. In this light, we are looking for partners, artists and participants who would have the same vision and would like to take part in this endeavour. PangMasa and the Volunteers of Nick Perlas are opening the festival to cooperatives, initiatives, artists, musicians and business owners who would like to share their vision, platform, actions, art, craft, products, services, etc. to enjoin more people to their cause. There will be a bazaar and exhibit, forum, performances, "jam sessions", healing/ health activities, film showing, picnic and a Perlas Concert Jam. For Bazaar participants: There will also be a minimal participation fee of PhP1,000.00 to cover the rental of tents, tables and chairs as well as a 10% commission rate that will based on the sales receipts which will be collected at the end of each bazaar day. For Individual Participants: Ticket price is Php10 for students, and Php20 for professionals, to cover for venue expenses. This is a consciousness project of PANGMASA, and it is also a fund-raising project to help PANGMASA and the general public to support Nicanor Perlas in his bid for being our New President in our New Philippines.
