A Fresh Start

Posted on February 25, 2010 12:00 am by Nizzi Gatdula, Cosmo.ph Staff Writer

Nizzi02.jpgWhen my editor asked me to submit a blog for Cosmo, that's only when it hit me: I have been an avid reader of the magazine ever since, as I'm sure most of you are. The proof: my room has a library of the glossies I’ve collected over the years. I've seen all the fabulous women who graced the cover, soaked in all the fashion and beauty tips it dished, and allowed the love advice it gave to influence my life one way or the other. And now, I can't believe I'm actually working for the title.

Today officially marks my first month in Cosmo. Working for the website is beyond what I imagined myself doing--and I'm loving it. As one of the new staff writers, I get to have first-hand experience on things that interests me—nothing too serious or too newsy, just stuff we kikay girls like and need.

A few days on the job, I was asked to do a salon review and I got a major hair makeover out of it. On the same day, I attended a back-to-back concert and partied with the rest of the team. I also realized when I recently flipped through my calendar that I have gone to more fashion and beauty events than I ever imagined attending.

Writing for Cosmo is definitely fun yet very challenging. Churning out at least a couple of articles a day does not come easy to me, and it entails honing my time management skills. I am also well aware of the huge responsibility that rests on our shoulders—and that’s to keep you, our dear Cosmo readers, informed, entertained, and inspired with each piece we publish.

I’m really excited to know and see what Cosmo has in store for me. I’m sure 2010 will be an incredible year. And I can’t wait to share them all with you. Here’s to a fresh and Cosmotized beginning!
