I'm a girl on a mission: I plan to have my own business up and running in three to four years' time.

For now it seems like a farfetched dream, a sweet idea more than anything else. I can't even confidently say I have what it takes to be an entrepreneur. My last business gig, baking leche flan, didn't turn me into a Junior Miss Martha Stewart. I'm not exactly the most money-savvy person on earth, either. But—here comes the big but—I have already made the first step in my Four-Year Business Plan. There is no turning back.

I know a lot of you share my entrepreneurial dreams. Come on, who doesn't want to have her own business and be her own boss? Aren't you excited by the thought of putting up a retail store or having your own resto in the future? I myself am beyond giddy just thinking of the possibility that I will own a bookstore someday. The thought of being surrounded with books and entertaining my book-loving customers is enough to motivate me. I know it will take a long time to get from point A to point B, but it will happen.

One fun, fearless entrepreneur who prodded me to quiet my inner Thomas and just get on with it is Michelle Asence-Fontelera of Zen Zest. Her story in this month's issue, "I Earned My First Million At 23," is truly inspiring and worth checking out. I'm so positive her story will inspire you, too!
