Shoe Away!

I confess that I'm an absolute shoe addict...and I'm in dire need of intervention before I go bankrupt! I love looking for shoes everywhere, from low- to mid- and high-end stores. I get an added high from fab shoe finds that are on sale or are affordably priced, which only makes me want to buy more. It's a vicious shopping cycle.
The habit kicks in every payday. Instead of paying my bills or buying necessities, the first thing I think of when I'm at the mall is to buy a new pair of shoes. Just this weekend, I was so tempted to get two pairs that were on sale, but I decided that I didn't need more residents in my already overstuffed shoe closet. Truth is, I have no space left; some of my recent purchases have taken up floor space in my room!
I have to admit, shoes are really my shopping weakness, and it doesn't help that my job requires spending lots of time at the mall, searching for the latest trends and finds. Shoes get me giddy, like a little girl in a toy or candy store. When I enter a store, the first section I gravitate toward is the shoe section. Every time I have money to spare, shoes top my list of things to buy. When I feel the need to reward myself, shoes are always the best prize. Maybe it's because they're the easiest to fit and buy in the store, or the fact that they'll still fit whether you gain or lose weight.
I surveyed my closet just last week, and it seems I really have to put shoe-shopping on hold (temporarily, I hope!) and start purchasing some clothes, for a change. That's what I really need right now. It's hard to control myself, but I know I have to.
Even people around me have started to convince me to stop buying shoes. Carie, Cosmo's admin assistant (and my constant companion during pullouts and shoots), always stops me every time I'm about to check out the shoe section, reminding me that I just bought a pair or two. Even my companions at home would greet me with "You bought another pair?!" or "I thought you were saving?" whenever I walk through the door with another bag of shoes.
It's true, my savings have deteriorated because of my compulsion to buy and buy, but I've decided to set my financial priorities straight and start saving for an upcoming vacation instead. In the meantime, I'll just satisfy my craving for shoes with this month's "Shoe Special: In Her Shoes..." My favorites? The outdoor pairs in wooden and wedge styles! I'd like to share with you some of my much-loved pairs from my personal closet, so click on the gallery button to see them!
What's your fashion weakness? Whether it's shoes or something else, share them in the comments section below! I'd love to hear what trends you Cosmo girls are currently obsessing over!

6. Hi tylerchase! We have the same dilemma! We really have to CONTROL or else! Maybe every month you can budget for one item that you really want to buy instead of buying everything all at the same time. Always ask yourself "Do I need this?" or "Do I have something similar in my closet?" to help you decide when purchasing stuff :)

5. Hi adellecristine! Aren't online stores great?! But good job at finding a local dealer for all your Victoria's Secret must-haves! Love their lingerie too! :)

2. i buy just about anything labeled Victoria's Secret, from bags to lingerie, makeup and scents...and since we dont have a local store where i live, i had to order online and pay for shipping (sigh). this was remedied though when i found a local dealer who sells authentic merchandise at outrageously low prices...a big yahoo for me. :)

1. It's all good, good shoes brings you to good places. What are we working for if we don't pamper ourselves with things we want. I am addicted to make ups, whenever I dropped by the mall I always make sure to visit the cosmetic section. To buy or to window shop, it makes me feel good to see make ups.
