I have a confession to make. Like some of you, I've NEVER been in a relationship. Yup, as difficult as it may sound, I've been a bachelor since birth--mostly by choice. But as Cosmo reaches its 150th issue, I have to admit that, like you, I've learned a whole lot about how to be Fun and Fearless within the last five years.

Early this year, I made a vow to myself to open myself up to the idea of being in a relationship. So with the help of my friends and a few networking sites, I've been on 18 dates with 18 interesting individuals. (For Christmas last year a couple of the girls on the Cosmo team pitched in to give me an account in Match.com.) A few of those dates I consider friends; the rest, well, I never heard from again.
Looking for someone you love and who loves you in return can be challenging, but I think it takes a lot of courage to actively put yourself out there.
Sometimes you have to change your routine and shake things up for the possibility that, by attending a friend's wedding or going out on a blind date, you have a chance to meet the right one for you. After all, if the man you're looking for isn't in your usual haunts, perhaps you should do something and make new friends.
