The first official trailer of the highly awaited live-action Wonder Woman movie was released during the San Diego Comic-Con.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of the world of Princess Diana of Themyscira, aka Wonder Woman, before she began fighting for global peace during World War I. She adopts the name Diana Prince for her cover.
Actress Gal Gadot is a stunning and fierce incarnation of the superheroine. (But then we already knew that from her appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The movie also stars House of Cards' Robin Wright as General Antiope and The Good Wife's Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta. They're basically the top two Amazons in Themyscira, a fictional island nation where all women are excellent warriors and are practically invincible. Oh, before we forget, Chris Pine is also in the movie as Steve Trevor, who is described as "the primary love interest of Wonder Woman."
What's even better is that the movie is directed by a woman, too! Patty Jenkins, who directed Charlize Theron's Oscar-winning performance in 2003's Monster, helmed the superheroine flick.
Wonder Woman is scheduled for release on June 2, 2017. It will also set up the premise for the DC Cinematic Universe's other 2017 film, Justice League, which will feature Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aqua Man, the Flash, and Cyborg.
