Receiving an invite to a fashion show with the image of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and emblazoned with the huge words NEW MOON is enough to send any Cosmo chick scampering to free up her schedule for it. After all, it seems every girl is just about ready to tear her hair out with excitement over the sequel to the hugely successful Twilight saga, which opens in cinemas next week, November 20.
And that’s exactly what Cosmo.ph did last October 30: that is, spend the eve of Halloween at Ascend Superclub to watch Wrangler unveil its Fall/Winter ’09 collection in a New Moon-themed fashion show, in the hopes of catching something, anything, that would tide us over until the movie is finally in theatres.
No free movie tickets or New Moon merchandise there, but we were momentarily (and pleasantly) distracted by the hot guys we spotted at the venue—model (Cosmo Centerfold Daniel Matsunaga was one of them--yes, that's him with the guyliner) or otherwise. Prior to the fashion show, Cosmo.ph mingled with the men and women who eagerly awaited the unveiling of the collection and enjoyed free-flowing shooters.
After a series of fun games involving the guests and models, American denim brand Wrangler finally unveiled its Fall Winter ’09 collection, which is defined by three distinct looks: Feel Pride, Call of the Wind, and Utility. These very American themes were given a whimsical twist as they were worn by models dressed as vampires and werewolves from the popular vampire saga by Stephenie Meyer.
Feel Pride is Wrangler's fresh take on the true-blue American patriotism with its vibrant shades of reds, whites, and blues; while Call of the Wind is meant for the adventure-seeker who’s willing to get his hands dirty and be one with the great outdoors—much like the werewolves in the novel. Meanwhile, those going for a heavy-duty look can opt for Utility, with its durable classic gear tailored to stand against the wear and tear of the elements—perfect for “vampires” who hunt at night.
If you want to dress your man a la Jacob or Edward from the novel, check out the new Wrangler store at Glorietta 5 in Makati. But if that is not his thing, well, you could just drag him to see New Moon with you next week. To get a feel of what he’ll say when you ask him, check out our gallery for what these hot guys we spotted answered when Cosmo asked them: “Would you watch New Moon with a girl?”
