Any makeup artist will tell you that beauty is an art form, and a recent makeup event showed us just how truly inspired that is, as this art was created before our eyes. Japanese cosmetics brand Shu Uemura recently hosted an event at Opus in Resorts World to formally launch their Holiday Collection 2011, which was created in collaboration with acclaimed Hong Kong director Wong Kar-Wai.
Wong Kar-Wai is famous for his beautiful shots in films like In The Mood For Love, and now he brings his aesthetic talent to the world of cosmetics. His short film Mask premiered at the event, serving as both visual poem and ad for the makeup collection. The theme of both the film and the collection is "rouge et bleu"--revolving around a palette of brilliant golds, blues, and reds.
The screening of the film was followed by a live demonstration of the looks you can achieve using the new eye and cheek palettes, jeweled false lashes, glittery mascara, glow powders, glimmering lipsticks, and more. A few of Cosmo's 8 Sexiest models--Vanessa Matsunaga, Jasmine Maierhofer, and Pauline Prieto--were the muses of the night and received 10-minute makeovers in front of the crowd to show how easy it is to glam up your look this season.
We spotted other fashion and beauty idols like event host Joey Mead, Bianca Gonzalez, and more in the crowd, checking out the latest makeup trends for the holidays.
