If you spent most of your day in a state of epic FOMO as you Insta-stalked the dreamy boho wedding of Troian Bellisario and Patrick J. Adams, you're not alone. We too spent the hours drooling/laughing/sobbing over all of the prettiness.

But as we scrawled through the #FortDay hashtag on Insta we became painfully aware that the quirky hashtag might have been an inside joke that we didn't know of. Yup, turns out that's 'cause it was.

Buuuuut good news y'all, the adorbs couple has explained the story behind #FortDay so we can ALL join in the gloriousness that is their union.

Warning: This story will turn your heart to mush.

Troian shared this epic aerial shot of the newlyweds on top of their very own bus along with the caption we’ve all been waiting for:

"8 years ago we were two friends who has shared very little time together. We were tired and overworked and just wanted to have some peace and quiet. So he invited me over to his apartment where he had built us a pillow fort," Troian wrote.

"He stapled sheets and Christmas lights to the ceiling. We shut the door to the world outside. We didn't answer our phones. And over pancakes and movies. Long late night conversations and sleep. we got to know each other a little better. That was the first 'Fort Day'."

"Each year after that our fort got a little bigger until 3 years ago our fort was a brand new home. Our first that we bought together. And in the still and the quiet of that 'fort day' he asked me to marry him. Well this year it wasn't about peace and quiet. Two days ago we decided to make the biggest fort we could dream of and we asked all our friends and family to come in it. Tents and talent shows. Food trucks and fires. Kids screamed 'I Iove fort day!' before jumping into the pool."

"I can't believe something small between friends could be accepted and embraced by so many people that mean so much to us. And what that said To me was that any of the tough times we've had making 8 years of long distance work was worth it. The pining. The missing. The quiet nights alone believing that it would be worth it. We were right to believe in us. And not only did we believe @halfadams but everyone around us did too. #fortday2016"

And 'cause these guys are almost too cute to handle, Patrick decided to share the same picture with his own version of how they met:

"8 years ago we built a pillow fort in my old apartment and started a conversation that has grown into a whole life. It was just a quiet shared idea that became a yearly tradition. This year we invited some more people. A lot more. And we made a wedding out of it," Patrick wrote.

"Three perfect days with friends and family. Kids screaming and laughing in the pool shouting ‘Fort Day’ at the top of their lungs. Our incredible tribe lifting us up the same way they have for so many years. It's impossible to put into words how it all felt. Filled with so much gratitude that I'm lucky enough to have married my best friend. Love you @sleepinthegardncan't wait to see what happens next. #fortday2016"

Aaaand that’s all our hearts can take before they start exploding.

We're not crying, you are.
