Every year when the holidays come around, most of us push our diets to the back of our minds. Who would want to count calories or cut back on carbs when there are so many delicious, festive treats to try? So, while you still can now, cut back on the calories and start eating only light, healthy desserts and snacks when craving kicks in. Luckily, many establishments offer yummy yet guilt-free options for our indulgences.

If your sweet tooth starts to act up in the middle of your Christmas shopping, opt for frozen yogurt instead. For instance, stop by a California Berry branch for a quick fix that will hit the spot. Their classic frozen yogurt is 100% non-fat and low on calories, so you won't feel bad about ordering a cup or two. It's even good for your health, since the active cultures in frozen yogurt reportedly help lower cholesterol, strengthen the immune system, and provide calcium and protein. (Their Original yogurt costs P60 for a small cup, P85 for medium, and P115 for large; seasonal flavors cost P5 more.)

Enhance the yogurt taste with your choice of fresh fruits, cereals, chocolate, and candy toppings (P20 for one topping, P30 for two, and P40 for three). If you want to try their recommended combinations, order one of their Signature Creations (P125 for medium, P155 for large; seasonal flavors cost P5 more). Some yummy options include the California Berry Special (mango, kiwi, and strawberry toppings), Blueberry Morning (blueberries, almond clusters, and Rice Krispies), Cherry On Top (cherries, Oreos, and almonds), Rainbow Overload (M&Ms, rainbow sprinkles, and marshmallows), and Rocky Road (chocolate chips, almonds, and marshmallows).

California Berry recently added a new frozen treat to their menu: a cup of flavored shaved ice they call Ice Ice Baby. These light-as-air treats come in seven flavors: Original, Taro, Mango, Strawberry, Green Tea, Melon, and Chocolate. Each order costs P65 and comes in a large cup with two toppings and a syrup flavor of your choice. If that's not enough, you can opt to add another topping for P20.

Not only can you have dessert at California Berry, you can actually eat merienda,  lunch, or dinner there, too, if you just want a light, quick bite. To complete their healthy but yummy lineup, they offer organic pasta made with real cheese. Before (or after) satisfying your sugar cravings, try one of their savory organic pastas, which are made with fresh herbs. Wash down your meal with a glass of one of their fresh fruit blends (P95) or a cup of organic coffee (P85). How's that for a complete, healthy, but satisfying meal?
