Accept the fact that your honey is a package deal. And that includes his mother. You and his mom may not see eye to eye but she is a major character in his life. Learn to tolerate her especially when you have to spend weekends at his family's events. When your honey sees you are making an effort to get along with his relatives, he will appreciate you more. Single? Have coffee or tea instead of dessert after a meal. When you skip something sweet in favor of decaf or herbal tea, your body will stop associating sugar to make you full. Eventually, you won't crave all those extra calories found in chocolate cake and apple pie.
