It’s no secret that GMA-7's star-making reality show Starstruck is a breeding ground for up-and-coming artistahin hotties to watch for. In fact, pioneering Starstruck winners like Mark Herras and Rainier Castillo have gone on to charm Filipinas across the country, and have even made their way to this site. Staying true to its studly tradition, Starstruck V, the most recent incarnation of the hit reality TV show, offered a new crop of cuties, including 2009 Cosmo Bachelor Ian Batherson. But right now, the one who has caught our eye is Rocco Nacino.

Rocco, born Enrico Raphael Nacino, emerged as the Second Prince in Starstruck V and is now part of GMA's Sunday variety show Party Pilipinas. Blessed with Pinoy good looks, a body molded by Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu, an amiable demeanor, and even a degree in Nursing to boast of, Rocco is a regular charmer. The 23-year-old cutie could’ve left showbiz well alone and stuck to nursing, and he still would’ve made a lot of ladies happy in any hospital where he chooses to practice. But really, why deprive the rest of the female population of those laughing eyes and sexy smile? We’re certainly not complaining, if it means we’ll be seeing him topless for an entire month on this site!

As Cosmo.ph’s April hunk, Rocco tries out his newly minted thespian talents by acting as a beach boy enjoying some fun in the sun (although he's really a natural at that!). Read on to learn more about this Baguio-born, Singapore-raised, all-Pinoy hottie’s travels here and abroad, what local vacation spots earn his thumbs-up, and why he thinks summer is the bomb!

What do you love most about summer?

Sarap magpawis. ‘Tsaka 'yung mga parties. Hindi ako mahilig pumunta sa mga beach, so [I go to] house parties in the city, 'yung may summer theme, tipong naka-shorts lang kayo.

With the money you've won in Starstruck V, we're sure you have a lot of cash to burn this summer! How do you plan to celebrate summer?

I’m not sure about the cash thing. I got Php200,000, and half of it I set aside for my brother’s tuition; sagot ko 'yung fourth year of high school niya. That’s fulfilling for me; nakatulong ako sa parents ko. ‘Yung natira, half binigay ko sa parents ko; the other half, diretso sa bank. So I won’t be spending any of it.

So you have no lavish plans for the summer?

Hindi muna. Ang daming opportunities na pumapasok ngayon. So I’d like to grab them na lang. Gusto ko work, work, work.

But of course you would like to hit the beach once in a while.

'Pag may time. Depende din kung sino'ng kasama ko. One thing I haven’t done is go to the beach, like Boracay or Palawan, with friends. 'Pag summer, family ko kasama ko out of town. I spend more time with my family at the beach than with my friends.

What are your favorite vacation spots here and abroad?

Pinakanagustuhan ko is Bohol. Sobrang peaceful ng resort [na tinuluyan ng family ko], very private. Pinuntahan namin ‘yung historical sites; nakakatuwa kasi I got to learn a lot. Very educational. Siyempre nandun 'yung tarsiers. It’s nice to get to look at and touch the smallest animal in the world. ‘Yung resort na pinuntahan namin, paggising mo sa umaga, pagtingin mo sa dagat, makikita mo 'yung dolphins tumatalun-talon. Very spectacular. Abroad, ang pinakamaganda ay Cairnes in Australia. Pinuntahan namin ‘yung Great Barrier Reef. From the boat, magso-snorkel ka papunta sa corals. Sobrang ganda.

Tell us about your most recent vacation.

The last one was a trip to Palawan. Pinuntahan namin ‘yung underground river. Sobrang ganda. Maa-appreciate mo talaga ang wonders of the world.

In your opinion, which summer vacation spot has the hottest girls?

Boracay.

Which summer vacation spot has the nicest beach?

Bohol.

Which summer vacation spot has the loveliest resorts?

I’d say Boracay, kasi very established na ang mga resorts doon. Sosyal. Kaso masyado na siyang established na gimikan, sobrang commercial. Very crowded na rin. That’s one thing na ayoko sa Boracay.

Which summer vacation spot has the best bars?

Boracay. I’ve been there once, pero siyempre kasama ko family ko, not friends, kaya hindi ako pwede magpakawala sa mga bars (laughs).
