Andrei Felix Spills The No-Fail Way To His Heart

A heartthrob among his peers ever since, this hottie now turns up the hunk-meter in our early morning programming.

We at Cosmo understand that you really want to know everything there is to know about men beyond the six-pack abs or chiseled pecs and the gorgeous smile. That is why we constantly help you try to figure out what really goes on in the male mind. So, when we caught up with ABS-CBN's Umagang Kay Ganda host Andrei Felix, we tried to pick his brain. Now, we're going to share with you what we discovered.

Among the things we asked this morning show anchor is what it takes to snag a smart, handsome dude like him. Read on and be surprised. Don't forget to launch the gallery after reading this!

What qualities do you look for in a girl?

First of all, [she has to be] someone I can get along with. Someone [na] makakasundo ko talaga personality-wise. And [ang] fetish ko, pinaka-weakness ko, is sobrang lambing. 'Yung malambing na todo.

What kind of lambing exactly?

Ang gandang tanong niyan. Ako, napakababaw kong tao, sobra. Maniwala ka o hindi, may magbigay lang sa'kin ng, kunwari, "'Uy, Drei, naalala kita," tapos binigyan ako ng, kunwari, chocolate lang. Or alam niyang favorite ko. Perfect example: There was this one time, [a girl told me], "Uy, naalala ko sabi mo paborito mo 'yung strawberry YanYan." Tapos binigyan niya 'ko ng strawberry YanYan. [I thought at that moment] "May potential ka! May potential kang maging next girlfriend." (Laughs.)

According to my mom, "Magbigay ka lang ng orange juice diyan, mai-in love na sa'yo 'yan." Hindi naman siguro literal na ganun! [There was one girl na] dinalhan ako ng Gatorade kasi raw mukha akong nauuhaw. [I thought,] "Cute 'to! Cute 'tong babaeng 'to!" [Gusto ko nang sabihin na,] "Nood tayo ng movie, The Notebook!" (Laughs.) 'Pag niyaya ko na, alam mo na.

How about you? How do you show affection toward a girl?

Ganun din kasi ako. Kaya mabilis akong mahumaling sa babae, ako rin mismo, I'm also like that. When I know that you're the type of person na ganyan, na for example, weakness mo 'yung ganito. Bibilhan kita kaagad. Kunwari alam ko na mahilig ka sa candy, the next day bibigyan kita, just to make you smile.

What turns you on?

Wow. A very articulate, knowledgeable, deep person--that turns me on. Someone with a dominant personality. A woman who can carry herself, with or without a guy, for me, is very, very sexy. And someone who can carry a very, very deep conversation, who knows a bit of everything. I would really be in awe, ako mismo 'yung mao-overwhelm with that girl. Kasi ako, madaldal ako e. But I also love to listen. That's the thing, 'pag may pinag-uusapan kayo, and she's a really sensible girl, para sa'kin... "Ooh! You're turning me on right now!" Parang ganun. Siyempre the physical, given na 'yan e.

So, tell us about your love life.

(Laughs.) 'Yun 'yung tanong na ano, e... magandang tanong 'yan. Well, my love life now is zero, actually. Zero balance, walang load. (Laughs.) Wala akong love life. I have friends na [kasama ko 'pag] manonood ako ng movie with some people. This is the first year na wala akong kasama sa Valentine's [Day], since 2003. From 2003-2007, I had a girlfriend. Tapos from 2007 ['til 2009], may kasama ako sa Valentine's.

So how come you didn't have a V-Day date this year?

Bahala na si God. Hindi, seryoso. Dati, sabi ko, feeling ko hindi ko kakayanin na wala akong girlfriend para sa Valentine's. I don't think I'd be able to survive. And then my family is in the US pa. So, sabi ko, bahala na talaga. Ngayon, my priority is really my faith, my relationship with God, tapos 'yung family ko, tapos work. So 'yung work ko talaga is more or less my priority. May mga ibang nagpapakilig, may mga ibang... 'Wag mo nang tanungin kung nasa industriya o hindi dahil next question diyan ay sino. So, 'wag na, 'wag na.

Okay. Let's just talk about your work then. How was the transition from being a MYX VJ to hosting a morning show?

I've dreamt of being in a morning show for the past years. Even when I was in MYX, I've been really, really wanting to just, you know, have a shot at it or audition for the part. It fell at the right place and at the right time. When my contract expired with MYX, I was just doing hosting gigs, and I was focusing on my commentating career with ABS-CBN Sports, sa NCAA. And with Umagang Kay Ganda, I wasn't expecting it to come. But really, I've been praying for it, dreaming of it, wanting to be part of it. Tapos nung dumating siya, at first, siyempre, I still had that VJ in me. And, aminin na natin, iba 'yung morning show, it's more masa. 'Yung Tagalog ko, although okay, wala pa 'to kumpara sa Tagalog ng mga co-host ko na nandyan na for years. So, [andun] 'yung adjustment talaga from [pure] English [to straight Tagalog].

Ito, sa morning show, waking up in the morning, medyo hirap [ako] nung una, pero medyo naka-adjust na. Waking up at 3:30 in the morning, papasok ka ng 4:30AM, we start at 5AM, we end 8:30AM, then we have meetings. Talagang masaya. Image-wise naman or work-wise, I think medyo hindi naman talaga ako nahirapan. Kasi in a way, kung ano ako, 'yun 'yung tinanggap nila e. Me being the sporty guy that I am sa NCAA e pasok na pasok para sa'kin pagpasok ko dun, kasi "Usapang Sports" 'yung binigay sa'kin na segment.

And then, ngayon, I do the traffic report. I'm still trying to learn the ropes of doing the traffic [report] pero I just treat it the way I treat NCAA. 'Pag nagco-commentator ako, ganon, just the way I see it, when I see players playing basketball. Ito naman, traffic. Kaya, kakaiba. Siyempre [hindi] naman smooth lahat e. Siyempre there were some bumps along the way. I just listen to my superiors, my producers, my bosses kung ano 'yung sabihin nila sa'kin, kung saan ako pwedeng maka-fit in, where I can mesh well with the group. But I'm thankful. I'm very, very grateful that [I'm] finally in a morning show. And just seeing my face sa OBB, tuwang-tuwa talaga ako, kasi nakikita ko 'yung mukha ko--wow, I'm actually part of something really, really great. It's a morning show, it's something na pinapanood ng mga Pilipino paggising nila sa umaga. And, hindi siya biro, masaya talaga siya. It's really, really fun, and sana, sana magtagal ako on the show. And hopefully I just keep getting better.
