Martin Escudero arrives at the Summit Studio for his Man On Fire shoot.

He greets fashion director Ana Kalaw and goes off to get into his first outfit.

For his first layout, we went for the layered preppy look.

Martin is truly very pleasant, both in front of and behind the camera.

Before we began the shoot, he sits down for an interview with Cosmo.ph, which you can watch soon on CosmoTV!

He told us about his experience playing the lead (gay) role in the hilarious Zombadings 1: Patayin Sa Shokot Si Remington.

He also talked about the best part of 2011 for him and what he's looking forward to in 2012.

After the interview, Ana shows him the pegs for his shoot.

Meanwhile, hairstylist Carmel Villongco grooms his short locks.

Martin and Ana discuss the concept of the shoot.

And now Martin moves to the area where we'll shoot the first layout.

Carmel does some touch-ups on his hair.

Ana styles him while videographer Diwa Tiongson takes behind-the-scenes footage.

Martin listens to instructions from photographer Cyrus Panganiban.

We make him pose by one of the windows of the studio.

He smiles for a few test shots.

We decide that his hair looks too neat, so Carmel steps in to muss it up.

Martin runs his fingers through his hair to create a more natural look.

Ana adjusts the shirt underneath his sweater.

And now we start shooting more photos.

Cyrus moves to the left to shoot from a better angle, since the sunlight hitting Martin's face was too harsh.

Cyrus shows Martin and Ana the first few photos.

We think his hair still looks too neat, so we have Carmel tweak it again.

She loosens up the front portion of his hair to give him a more casual vibe.

He leans back on the window completely and gives Cyrus a serious look.

This angle is much better because the light isn't washing out his face.

He poses for a few more shots.

And we're done with this layout!

Martin changes into a tailored shirt and coat.

Ana adjusts his collar as we make our way outside.

We did the rest of the layouts outside the studio to fully maximize the natural lighting.

Martin turns toward Cyrus when we begin shooting.

He gives us a small grin.

We discovered that Martin is the silent type off-cam--quite the opposite of his TV and movie characters, like the one in Zombadings.

Ana adjusts his coat to show less of the white shirt inside.

We resume shooting, and Martin gives Cyrus an intense gaze.

He looks great in that outfit, don't you think?

It's a far cry from the outfits he wore in character as Remington, haha!

Cyrus shows Ana and Martin the shots from this layout so far.

He leans against a wall outside the studio.

He turns toward the camera.

Cyrus zooms in for a closeup.

Martin fastens one button of the coat to tighten his silhouette.

Any girl would melt under his arresting gaze!

He poses for one more shot by the wall, and we wrap up the layout that made it to the magazine!

Still, we decided to shoot one more layout.

The light sweater and jeans make him look much younger than he did in the previous outfits.

He seems more relaxed and comfortable with this casual look.

He fixes his gaze once more on Cyrus.

Cute!

Here's a full body shot of him in the laid-back outfit.

Martin mentions in his magazine feature that he's a simple guy, so this is probably close to how he dresses in real life.

He gives us a tiny, shy smile.

Ana and Cyrus decide there's something missing in the shots, so they made Martin put on the coat again and showed him the difference.

Ana adjusts the back of the coat.

And we resume shooting the third layout, this time with that coat on Martin.
