Catching Up With John Lloyd Cruz

We talked to the handsome leading actor about his career in a recent event where he welcomed more HOT male endorsers of the pizza brand he represents.

Local pizza brand Greenwich has turned John Lloyd Cruz into something he never expected: an award-winning action star. Of course, this happened in one of their hilariously memorable commercials featuring the 27-year-old actor.

Cosmo caught up with the showbiz heartthrob at a party Greenwich threw for him before his birthday. There, they presented him with a pizza-shaped cake.

The faved leading man said it's not impossible for him to do an action movie in real life.

"Siguro action pero sa ibang [klase]," he said. "Masyado na kasing ano ang action genre, 'yong Pinoy action, ha, parang madalang na ang gumagawa ng action films ngayon. Pero kung i-incorporate mo ang genre sa isang mas popular na genre, 'yon, baka pwede."

John Lloyd, who has been in show business for 14 years, has already proven his worth in the industry. No wonder his endorsement alone sells so many products—from shampoo to medicine to food to clothing.

Does John Lloyd feel pressured for these products to sell to the public?

"Well, hindi lang naman sa akin ang pressure. Siyempre, no one naman can do it on his own. You can't do it alone, kumbaga. Nandito lang naman tayo para tumulong, 'di ba? Mayroon tayong opportunity para makatulong sa brand. Pero kung 'yong pressure, hindi naman talaga ako pressured," he answered in a separate interview during the launch of his Magic endorsement.

The three-time Blockbuster King said you can expect more from his TV commercials, especially those for Greenwich. He even jested, "(In this commercial) action star (ako), naging dramatic actor na nabigyan ng isang prestigious na [award ng] award-giving body abroad. Maybe next time baka porn star!"
