11 Reasons Why Being Single On Valentine's Day Is Actually The Best

Who needs relationships when you've got online shopping?

1. Your purse won't take a hit because you're not pressured into buying things by marketing campaigns or other people's expectations.

While couples are wasting their money on stuffed animals and overpriced set menus for their other half, you're spending your hard earned cash on a well deserved online shopping spree. Winning.

2. You don't have to stress about planning a big romantic gesture or fighting off other couples for a table in that restaurant everyone's talking about.

Is there anything better than being happy in your own company while other people panic about where they should go with their boyf? Nah.

3. You don't yet have to face up to the crippling realization that no man will ever compare to Leonardo DiCaprio.

4. You don't have to rely on someone else to buy you your favorite snacks.

Be single. Buy your own chocolate. Yaaaas.

5. You'd rather be happily single than be miserable in a relationship.

So Mr. Right might not have swept you off your feet just yet, but at least you know that if he were to turn up at your door tomorrow, you're not tied up with the WRONG person for you right now.

6. You don't feel pressured to look/dress/act a certain way just because it's a certain date on the calendar.

Just because it's February 14th, you don't have to suddenly care about vomit-worthy cheesy cards and wearing matching socks.

7. You get to choose exactly what you do for the weekend, rather than having someone telling you to make them breakfast in bed/do the dishes/let them play video games "because it's Valentine's Day."

Er, no.

8. You can save yourself a whole load of clichéd cringe.

Roses? Cards? Little fuzzy teddy bears holding up red love hearts? No thanks.

9. Oh, and chocolates are cheaper after Valentine's Day.

I couldn't care less that they're heart shaped, because chocolate is chocolate, basically.

10. Plus you don't have to share your food with anyone!

11. If you fancy a night out over Valentine's Day weekend, you can bet your last chocolate biscuit every man in that bar will be single.

If you feel like pulling or having a proper singles' night out while lots of couples have a cringe night in, you go for it, pal.
