Beware The Sign

But it wasn’t enough.
“So, does he know?” asked Charlie. “Does Matt know that you love him?”
And when I told Charlie that I have no immediate plans of telling Matt about my feelings, she said, “What’s the point in loving, or being in love with someone, if they don’t even know about it?”
True. But easier said than done. Shit.
I can be such a hypocrite. Have I ever written about the Oprah-worthy advice I gave Charlie about Jan? I told her to go after her feelings, follow her heart, and all that cliche. And yes, I asked her the same question she threw at me: “What’s the point in loving someone if they don’t know about it?”
Of course there’s no point! It’s like waiting for a bus at the taxi bay—stupid and senseless. If you confess and things changed (for the better or for the worse) at least you would know where you stand...take the guessing game out of the way. If you choose to shut up, you might miss your chance and end up with regrets. Worse, your “what ifs” might haunt you when you’re at the altar, right before you say “I do”—to another person.
You’re damned if you do. You’re damned if you don’t. So you might as well do.
Naturally, it’s easier when I’m not the subject of the discussion. But I don’t want these things to haunt me till I’m 30 and engaged to someone else...might as well nip it in the bud.
Being the ultimate believer in all things serendipitous, I asked the heavens to help me decide if I should tell Matt about my feelings or not. I asked for a sign. And boy, did the heavens listen to me.
But if there’s one Math rule that I should have applied in real life, it was this: Be careful with the sign.

22. "But if thereâs one Math rule that I should have applied in real life, it was this: Be careful with the sign" I like the quote there..before I don't believe in signs but then how can one could explain the coincidence, right?

20. i am not a fan of "what ifs" although i was once a victim of it. but when i got enough courage, i took the chance to let the person know the answers to my questions in my mind. at least, im now free from "what ifs" :)

10. i read between lines (signs) too. too much at times that when i get tired, i throw caution to the wind and disregard everything and nothing. but since im supersous at times, or rather, hypervigilant, i tend to review a situation with method and logic and reason. hay, not sure if it works each time, though hahaha
