I was wrong. That opportunity wasn't the "bigger" thing the universe was saving for me.

After I talked to Logan that night, I went to sleep with a huge smile on my face, feeling very excited for the week ahead.

Two interviews in a week--not bad, I thought. Not bad at all.

Hours later, I woke up to the persistent ringing of my mobile phone. As usual, I opened one eye first and stared at the unfamiliar number calling me at--what?--9 o'clock in the morning.

"Hello...?"

To my surprise, I didn't sound like I just woke up. I found another talent.

"Hello, [real name here], this is Mister..."

The rest of the conversation came and went like a moment stripped from my stream of consciousness. I found myself responding to questions with such clarity and poise that were somewhat new to me.

Clarity--that, I believe, I already have. When you've spent years revisiting the past, it's hard not to develop a crystal clear picture of what you want in life when you turn 25 and above. The poise factor, well, that's new. For someone who used to go through her youth with such a wasak style of decision-making, I found myself taking in the conversation with as much poise a bagong gising person can actually muster at 9 o'clock in the morning. Believe me, that's early for me.

It was destiny calling.

It was an editorial job for a small travel and lifestyle magazine with an international circulation. My ears were, literally, ringing as I jumped out of bed to prepare for an interview later that afternoon.

Wow, that was fast, I thought.
