Two weeks have passed since our Hong Kong trip, but the scents, flavors, and sounds of that beautiful, lively city remained in my mind. But as I slowly slid back into my usual routine, I began to feel this somewhat depressed state creep back in.

Aside from writing about my recent trip, I found myself with absolutely nothing to do. No big projects to plan, no pending writing assignments to rush, no trips to look forward to. And since I don't have a 9-to-5 job like the rest of my friends, dance and kickboxing classes at the gym were the only schedules that kept me on my toes. Of course, whenever I felt like dressing up, I'd just go to McKinley Hill and work at CBTL while waiting for Logan so we could later have a fancy dinner in one of the restaurants there (I love, love, love Empire Deli & Restaurant).

But, that was it.

Sometimes, I would wake up feeling more stressed than ever. My body and my head started to feel heavier, too. I just felt bored. I felt like I was simply letting the days go by without actually doing anything substantial, except maybe go to the gym. I needed new tasks. I needed a new challenge. I needed to take charge of my life again!

So, I fixed my portfolios, both for writing and designing. I updated my resume. I joined LinkedIn, Jobstreet, Monster Singapore, and just about every job-hunting site Logan told me about. This time, though, it was easier to filter through the myriad of job vacancies since I finally knew what I really want to do.

Of course, my ultimate goal is to become a publishing tycoon. I'll get there. But for now, I just wanted a job as an editor.
