So I sat there on the sofa, with my laptop hot on my lap, and stopped typing for a few seconds when I first heard the name. I acknowledged it, yes, then resumed typing...until the beach scene came up, where the four lead characters were playing badminton, and everyone just kept saying "his" name, urging him to make a serve.

Have you ever watched a movie where a character's name is so familiar to you, and the cast just keeps repeating it in an annoying way, that it sort of makes you want to throw your laptop and run around the room screaming? I almost did that. Seriously.

But I didn't, because I couldn't afford to buy a replacement for my trusty old ASUS. Also because I was in the middle of writing and, of course, my parents were there laughing on the sofa with no idea what the heck was going on in my head.

It wasn't only Matt's real name that got to me. Matt and the male character in Something Borrowed have so much in common, I hated it. There was a scene where the female character, Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin), confessed her feelings and the male lead turned her away. There was also that scene where Rachel's guy friend Ethan tried talking Rachel out of keeping the torch alive for that guy. "Why do you choose to be with him when he obviously isn't doing anything for you?" Or something like that. At least that was what I heard when I stopped blogging and watched the movie instead. Again, not because of the name, but because, well, I could relate. Big time.

You know what it's like, don't you? When you're going through an emotional turmoil, it seems that every movie, song, and book has been made just for you. I certainly felt that way.
 
Here I go again.
