I was half-giggling, half-shouting my part of the conversation with Logan, as I was standing in the middle of an open parking lot on a busy Monday evening. As it turned out, they saw my open resume on one of those job hunting sites I recently joined, saw the links to my two professional online portfolios, and poof! I became a job applicant with a job interview scheduled within the week.

I was beyond ecstatic! After all, it's one of the most recognizable brand names in the world. When I got home, I quickly sent them copies of my sample works and, just because I was high on endorphins, decided to resend all the resumes and cover letters I sent to most publishing companies in the past weeks. Iba na ang persistent!

"There's no harm in resending emails," I told Logan that night, after I spent almost 30 minutes updating him on my scheduled interviews. "Ang dami kong ni-resend! 20 emails siguro 'yun!"

"Grabe, ang dami mong in-apply-an! Pero, babe, baka makulitan sila sa 'yo," he told me. "Once is enough."

"Malay mo, 'di nila na-receive 'yung mga unang sinend ko?" I reasoned. "Or puno inbox nila."

"Well then, good luck with your interviews babe. Kaya mo 'yan!"

"Thanks, honey," I replied. I knew that he mean that. "I told you there's something bigger in store for me."

But, the universe proved me wrong.
