Logan's Surprise

Rose returned to her friends just as Logan went back to the office to finish some work. As per my usual routine, I opened Microsoft Word on my laptop and stared at a blank page until I decided to take all the travel magazines displayed near the condiments section and browse through them instead.

The passion and excitement I felt earlier was fast fading. It bothered me how I couldn't hold on to those feelings like I used to. Back in my early, early 20s, I could feel so strongly for someone (guess who) even if I hadn't talked to him in months. I could hold so much emotion in the palm of my hands, and then write about it for hours on end. Why is it that now, when I'm really confident about my place in Logan's life, I can't write about it extensively?

Is there something wrong with Logan?

Or is it just me?

I must have read at least three magazines by the time Logan came back.

"Hey, I forgot to tell you kanina I have a surprise for you," he said as he leaned back in his chair.

"Is it a pony?!" I said, copping a line from one episode of Veronica Mars Season 2.

Of course, Logan didn't get that.

"No," he smiled. "But it involves a plane ride."

"We're going to Paris?!" I screamed.

"Ah, no," he replied. "But it involves another couple who got engaged in Paris."

Then he went on to tell me that our engaged friends, Arya and Mel, asked if we wanted to go with them to Coron, Palawan.

"I figured you wanted to go since Charlie first told you about it," Logan said.

Charlie,
I thought with a tad of bitterness.

"So I said yes, sama tayo," he continued. "What do you think?"

"Are you f*cking kidding me?! I can't wait to go!"

They say couples need other couples. Apart from the fact that I can't wait to see beautiful Coron, maybe this trip will help me solve my fleeting passion problem.
