Pain Comes In All Forms

They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”
I came across this quote by Neil Gaiman while reading a friend’s blog. I couldn’t have found a quote that could better summarize what I’m going through right now. It’s been a month since the Avenue Q encounter. The days passed in a blur as I typed my thoughts in my private blog in cyberspace.
Now I know why I remember Matt so vividly and why certain memories in the south continue to chase me here in the north, and why the north air smells like the south when it rains.
It smells of words both spoken and written, and it reminds me not of the time I got my heart scalded, but of the confidante I once had.
But just like the seasons, the rain would stop eventually and the sun will come out.
The rain reminds me of a lot of things, and I hope it could erase just as well as it can bring back to mind things I want to forget in an instant.
