People Do Crazy Things When They're In Love

“I am so bored,” I hissed at Dee. “How long pa ba 'to?”

“I know,” Dee hissed back. “Hay naku, ma-sa-stuck yata tayo rito the whole day!”

We were at a studio somewhere in the outskirts of Makati for our photo shoot. Three local celebrities were getting prepped for the shoot while the guys prepared the set. The shoot was for our Autumn Issue, so the set was littered with dried and colorful leaves, and don’t get me started on the clothes.

I was finished with my interview for the feature articles. Dee and I were spacing out, bored out of our wits. Of course, Sir P and Sir San-yo were busy with their D-O-M ways and didn’t care if the shoot takes the whole day. I was ready to bolt when the pizza arrived.

So the shoot went on smoothly, despite how boring everything was to me. At around 4PM and after three orders of Starbucks, I decided to slip out of the studio and discovered the rooftop.

The sun was still hot but the breeze was cool on my skin so I didn’t mind. From there, I could see the airport from a distance, just like in Matt’s place.

I’ve always been a hopeless romantic and thoughts of him came crashing down me that in no time, I was overwhelmed with so much emotion, I was ready to implode.

And right then and there, under the 4PM sun, at a deserted rooftop, and with my supervisors one floor down doing a photo shoot, I shouted “I LOVE YOU, MATT!!!!!” hoping it can be heard all the way to Paranaque.

It felt good, really good, to be able to let it all out. What a rush.

However, when I turned around to make my way back to the photo shoot, I saw Sir P and Sir San-yo standing in the doorway ready to light their cigarettes.

“Was that you?” Sir P asked me with his standard D.O.M look.

“Ummm,” I started. “Yes?”

“So who’s Matt?” Sir San-yo, my millionaire boss, asked.

I was so dead.
