The Bedroom Blog Diaries: Establishing "Me Time"

I remember the time when two of my best friends, Nicia and Gail, went AWOL on me and our social circles back in 2008. You couldn't talk to them for an hour straight without them pulling out their mobile phones and texting their boyfriends right in front of your face and in the middle of your conversation. I remember wanting to turn She-Hulk and crushing their phones into pieces.
You couldn't invite them on a girls' night out without having to make "reservations" a month in advance because their boyfriends wouldn't want to leave their sides. I really hated those times and promised myself that when I get into a relationship, I wouldn't be tied to my partner's waist ALL. THE. TIME.
But things got better in the long run. Maybe it was partly due to my constant bitching and my best friends' own maturity that made all of us begin to live up to the Sex And The City mantra that sometimes, you just really need to get away with the girls. Still, on my side of the fence, I stuck with my promise that I wouldn't let my life revolve around a man. I have a lot of things going on in my life and these things need not stop just because an area of my life is a work in progress.
So when Logan and I became a couple, we established a "Me Time" early on. We agreed not to dwell on nonsense conversations like "Kumain ka na ba?" and "Where na you, dito na me" crap. We didn't want to be one of those couples who call and send messages round the clock. Where's the fun in that? There are days when neither of us would text the whole day, but we see to it that we talk before we sleep. He gets things done. I get things done. And we both have money to burn when pay day comes.
To be continued...

5. We do this a lot nowadays. Since we can't be together as much as we want, we opt to just... let go. You know. There's nothing wrong with that. As long as you keep in touch and as long as you don't forget the nice things :)

2. maganda nga yung ganyan kaso minsan talaga when you're addicted to the high of love talaga, nakakaadik maadik sa bf. hahaha. pero mas gusto ko rin ng hindi round the clock kasi narealize ko my parents are right. madali magkasawaan kung palagi magkasama at magkausap. wala ng thrill ng missing each other.
