The Bedroom Blog Diaries: Find Romance, Find Isabelo

We stopped in front of a big metal gate and knocked. I was right. A waiter asked Logan for his name, confirmed his reservation, and opened the gate to let us pass.
Wow! It was a different world inside. Elegant lights. Tasteful garden furniture. Soft music. Candles in small glasses on top of tables. Romantic vines, wines, and rustic aura. It was so beautiful.
Logan really knows my taste, I thought.
He parked the car and another waiter led us to our table for two. Isabelo is a garden restaurant. I read somewhere that it has a lot of history and sentimental value to the Dee family. There's a small cottage beside the kitchen with framed artwork on the walls--that's where big groups usually sat. Couples opted to sit outside for the view. Elegant lights, ornaments, empty bottles, and candles were artistically scattered around the garden.
Our table was wrapped in an elegant, dark red cloth and the seats were tasteful batibot chairs. The plates and utensils were heavy, perfect for the gourmet dinner we were about to share. After a while, the owner Portia Baluyut greeted us personally and wished that we enjoy the great food, good music, and the lovely ambiance, before she excused herself and went back to the kitchen to cook.
We had the Pinoy Tuscan Salad first, as we enjoyed the soft music being played live right in front of us. The salad was very tasty. I loved the crusty bread, the fresh basil and tomatoes, and the divine pairing of quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
The Isabelo Lokal Bolognese with Parmesan Chicken was served next. Good thing Logan knew that the serving was good for two people, because I wouldn't be able finish one serving on my own. The pasta was a bit bland for my taste (they didn't have salt and pepper at the tables, a rule of thumb in all Italian restaurants), mainly because I love salty food. But I enjoyed the freshness of the dish—the tomatoes, olive oil, and the mixture of spices. The parmesan chicken was so tender, Logan and I loved it best. It was cooked thoroughly, but it was still very tender and had a real parmesan kick to it. Yummy! It was very filling, we didn't even get to finish one serving. Finally, we shared a Mango Float for dessert.
Okay, I admit, I am a foodie.
To be continued...
