One night, while I was finishing yet another episode of The Vampire Diaries, Arya sent me a buzz on Yahoo! Messenger and told me about this Bridal Fair in Megamall happening in February. By this time, The Vampire Diaries has successfully stabilized some of my wedding-crazy hormones, so I was able to register at the website Arya told me about without so much as a fidget. After our Coron trip this February, Logan and I will accompany our "Happy People" couple to the Bridal Fair in SM Megamall. Logan didn’t go berserk when I told him about it via chat.

Veronica: Baka naman himatayin kayo ni Mel dun sa fair ha. Reminder lang, it would be all laces, roses, strawberries, and cream dreams dun sa loob ha.

Logan: Pwede bang dun muna kami sa Cyberzone?

Veronica: Haha, baka magkombulsyon kayo ha. Isama ko kaya si Lily...

Logan: 'Wag! Parang awa mo na! Isa pa 'yun e. Kanina nga ka-group chat namin si Tamby...

Veronica: Wait, so guys do group chats too?

Logan: Well…yeah.

Veronica: So what did you guys talk about?

Logan: Mostly 'yung wedding ni Mel. Siya kasi ang unang isasalang e.

Veronica: Isasalang! Haha. So kayo naka-marinade pa lang? Hahahaha.

Logan: Hahahahaha, parang gano'n na nga, naka-marinade pa lang kami.

I couldn’t help but be reminded of that Sex And The City character, Mr. Big. He’s the exact opposite of that marriage-crazy jackass Ted Mosby of the How I Met Your Mother series but Mr. Big probably represents the biggest chunk of the male population, not only in the Philippines, but in the whole world.

Logan is my Mr. Big, and just like the character, Logan, too, never talks about “these things” unless I ask him about it. And whenever I do, it’s always in a vague and distant manner. It hurt me before, back when I still didn’t understand that part of the male psyche.

“Babe, all guys are like that,” he would reassure me. “Ask Franco.”

“Franco is a playboy,” I would tell him. “Hindi reliable ang sagot nun.”

“Then ask Brix.”

“Brix is different! That guy is a real-life Ted Mosby.”

“Okay, then ask my friends.”
